Southern California’s own folk metal fury, Helsótt, is proud to debut their first video here on DMK.  We gave their EP Fólkvangr a solid review last year, so check it out and pick up a copy!

Formed Feb 1st 2010 Helsótt is a melding of American Thrash/Death and Pagan Metal. Very melodic and very brutal music sets the pace for a high energy live act that can only be described as crushing.

Helsótt has supported national and international acts such as: Finntroll, Ensiferum, Nile, Ex Deo, Turisas, Nevermore, Suidakra, Eluveitie, Arkona, Alestorm, Fear Factory, Kill Devil Hill, Rotting Christ, Epica, Death Angel, Hate, Keep of Kalessin, Kampfar, Vreid, Warbringer, Mayhem, Destruction, Heathen, Goatwhore, Possessed, Origin, Decrepit Birth, Aborted and many more.

2012 is bringing a glorious year for metal, especially those into Folk and Power metal. Kyle and I have acquired full coverage of Turisas and Alestorm’s set during their stop in Hollywood, CA on the North American Paganfest 2012 tour. We also scheduled some time with The Faceless and possibly DevilDriver and 3 Inches of Blood during the Metal Alliance tour this year. Talvi got a hold of Arkadius from the legendary Folk Metal band Suidakra and should be sitting down to chat with him and his band while they tour on Killfest!  We hope to see you guys at these shows!
