Breaking News | Tim Lambesis Arrested for Alleged Murder-Plot

(Reuters) - Tim Lambesis, lead singer of San Diego based metalcore act, As I Lay Dying, has been arrested on accusations of hiring a detective to murder his estranged wife.

Lambesis was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 7 in Oceanside, California, after he solicited help from the detective, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. According to initial reports, the police were notified about this arrangement between Lambesis and a supposed “hitman.”

The Swedish Vikings of Amon Amarth are at it again with their NINTH studio album, Deceiver of the Gods due out later this year!

They’ve been using the power of social media to make sure EVERYONE KNOWS that the Vikings are back and here to pillage your ear drums. Earlier this week they unveiled the EPIC ALBUM ART via their Official Reddit…yeah reddit, how awesome is that?

You can expect us to bring you more on this already epic sounding LP. Now we do have a special request for you. GO SEE THEM OPEN THE MAINSTAGE ON THE ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL. This may be one of the only times you’ll have the opportunity to see Amon Amarth in a festival setting without having to recycle your beer bottle collection for that CA CRV, just to afford a damn plane ticket to Europe.

Speaking of beer, have you seen AA’s custom brew? (That’s short for Amon Amarth…not Alcoholics Anonymous) Unfortunately, RAGNAROK, as it was so “appropriately” named, was only brewed once by the Three Floyds Brewing Company in Indiana, US. At least we can look at bottle art! Huzzaahh.

Blodsvept, which is FINNTROLL’s sixth studio album, was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki while mastering duties were handled by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios. Henri ‘Trollhorn’ Sorvali and the band produced the album themselves, the album artwork was handled by the band’s own guitar player, Samuli ‘Skyrmer’ Ponsimaa, and even the production for the upcoming video clip will be the brainchild of the trolls…Because let’s be honest, nobody knows how a FINNTROLL album should sound, look and smell better than the trolls themselves! Troll tested, troll approved!

Music Update | ARSIS: New Album Details Revealed

Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters, ARSIS, have announced Unwelcome as the title of their upcoming fifth full-length album. The follow up to their 2010 release Starve for the Devil, will be released on April 30, 2013 in North America via Nuclear Blast records.
“At this point ARSIS has more than a few releases in our catalogue and we are about to have one more, Unwelcome,” commented founder and lead guitarist/vocalist James Malone. “Of all the albums we have done, Unwelcome is an album that I wanted to define the band’s sound. We were all focused for the writing and recording and the end product reflects this. Get ready for Unwelcome to see the light of day on April 30th through Nuclear Blast USA and for ARSIS to be destroying the new material live throughout May with HYPOCRISY, KRISIUN, and ABORTED!!!”

“We’re excited to be back out on the road after spending down-time rebuilding the band and recording both Unwelcome and Leper’s Caress,” added bassist Noah Martin. “Down to the artwork, Unwelcome is by far the most raw and brutal album ARSIS has released with Nuclear Blast. Upon its release, we look forward to a very busy 2013 touring season, seeing all our old friends and making new ones. If Canadian fans want to bring some homemade poutine to a show, I would be forever indebted to you.”

Unwelcome was tracked at Audiohammer Studios in FL with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER). The follow up to their 2010 release Starve For The Devil is tentatively scheduled for a first quarter of 2013 release via Nuclear Blast.

Starve For The Devil was released in North America on February 9^th 2010 and debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Update | IMMOLATION: New Album Details!

New York death metal legends, IMMOLATION, have unveiled the artwork and track listing for their upcoming ninth full-length album Kingdom of Conspiracy. The cover imagery was brought to life this time by no less than Pär Olofsson (IMMORTAL, THE FACELESS, ABYSMAL DAWN). “The figures in the artwork have all been bound and chained and have their eyes and mouths sewn shut symbolically, showing the chilling of speech and the intentional blinding of the masses,” explains guitarist Robert Vigna. “They all make up the huge ominous structure behind them, which is symbolic of the growing security state as well as our failing structures today, and how they are slowly and methodically consuming and controlling us all. It has a very Orwellian feel to it, which is what we were going for since the album is very dark in a slightly different way.”

In regards to Kingdom Of Conspiracy’s lyrical content he continues: “The album deals with the world today and the slow unraveling and breakdown of our societies and the systems and structures behind them. It speaks of the human side to all this and how we have all lost our way and have fed into these very systems that are slowly coming apart. This is the common thread running throughout the album and the cover paints a very dark picture of the future, where these systems have completely absorbed our world, and our freedoms and we have become a part of the very fabric of these structures that we have created. Each song is a symptom of this mass sickness that has brought the world to the point it is at now, and we paint a very bleak picture of this slow and gradual breakdown and the human failures that sped this process along. This is the Kingdom of Conspiracy.”

The follow up to their 2010 release, Majesty and Decay, will be released on May 14^th in North America both digitally and physically via Nuclear Blast. The album was recorded at Sound Studios in Millbrook, NY with longtime producer Paul Orofino, and mixed and mastered once again by Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION).

Update | Entrails launch Single and New Album Art

Swedish death metal act ENTRAILS launch single and unveil art for “Raging Death”

“Raging Death” to be released May, 14th!

Swedish death metal act, ENTRAILS, have launched the first single and released the art for their third album, Raging Death! Visit www.metalblade.com/entrails to check out the stunning artwork for Raging Death, as well as the first single In Pieces!

The band comments: “This is the perfect next step for ENTRAILS. A massive stench of death, right in your face! ‘Raging Death’ as a title suited the album as a whole, since it’s pure death metal without mercy!”

Raging Death will be released the 10th/13th of May via Metal Blade Records in Europe on vinyl, as a limited digi-cd with bonus cd and as a jewel case CD. In North America, the CD will be released on May14th. Only the European vinyl version and the limited digi-CD will include the MARDUK cover, Dark Endless, as a bonus track! More details on the content of the bonus cd will be revealed shortly.

Raging Death was recorded in different studios: the drum recordings took place at the Racetrack studios while the bulk of the record was tracked at guitarist Jimmy Lundqvist’s The Crypt recording studios. The album was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound.

ENTRAILS formed in the ’90s, but split up before they were able to release a demo or even an album. It took them until 2008 to come back when guitarist Jimmy Lundqvist rediscovered some old tapes. In a moment of nostalgia, he decided that they deserved to be released as they should have been originally. With modern recording technology, the first ENTRAILS demo could finally take shape. After releasing another demo in 2009, ENTRAILS recorded and released their debut album, Tales From The Morgue, in 2010. Just a year later, The Tomb Awaits was released, an album that gained worldwide attention of music fans of the extreme and was considered by many as the best death metal release of 2011. ENTRAILS has played numerous prestigious festivals in 2012 including gigs at Party.San Open Air, Summer Breeze Open Air and Hell Inside festival.

News | Suffocation – John Gallagher of Dying Fetus to Fill in Vocals

New York death metal veterans, SUFFOCATION, have announced that John Gallagher of DYING FETUS will be filling in for a week of shows on their upcoming North American tour this April. Gallagher will be temporarily taking the place of vocalist Frank Mullen due to his other personal commitments. “I’m looking forward to seeing our amazing fans on the road,” commented Mullen. “John Gallagher from DYING FETUS will be filling in for a few shows that I can’t do and I’m sure he will do an awesome job. So please show your support for him and the band! See you soon.”

“I’m stoked to be performing on several shows with longtime friends and my brothers in metal, SUFFOCATION,” added Gallagher. “It’s going to be a blast and since I’ll JUST be singing the vocals, they are going to be super sick and guttural.
