Alhazred Demo Review

My fellow Metal brothers, I bring you some epic Death metal from Baltimore, MD. When I was at Shredfest to work with Fallen Martyr, I was scouting out the opening bands. There, I came across Alhazred, a brutal 4 piece Death Metal outfit. These guys put on a great performance, and really stood out from the opening acts. After their quick set, I went and picked up a shirt. After that show, Der Metal Krieger got in contact with the guys, and had the pleasure to review their Demo.

First off, these guys know how to bring brutality through their music, as well as technicality. The drum work of James Spaeth is of what you would expect in a technical death metal band. The Demo starts off with Death, Slavery, And The Pursuit of Misery. Right away, you can tell that you are in for one hell of a ride! Brutal guitar riffs and vocals are followed by blast beats and pounding double bass. This track is what Death metal is all about: getting in your face with extreme music. I found myself headbanging through out this song, and just enjoying every single second of it. After getting a small taste, I craved for more. Viral Fear was another song that filled my appetite for extreme metal. Following the same technical format, these guys are relentless with producing heavy music. The guitar work of Christopher Fink and David Morgan is just incredible. All together, you can definitely pick up their influence from Misery Index, and making it into their own unique sound.

This Demo is a musical masterpiece for all those who are searching for new Death Metal. Each track is brutal, fast, and heavy and very unique. These guys aren’t some band that sounds the same each song, but are a band who know how to write music and do it well! It’s hard to believe that a band with this much talent is still unsigned. These guys could easily get picked up by a label, and make a good mark in the extreme metal community.

If this band interests you, check them out on Facebook, and take a listen. And did I mention the demo can be downloaded for FREE? That’s right! You can download it at here. As we know, money can be hard to come to us metalheads, so what can beat some free music?! Give it a try. What do you have to lose? Download this awesome 4 track demo, and share it with your friends! And be sure to catch these guys August 16th with Vital Remains and Misery Index at the Ottobar in Maryland.
